The Village of Merna is now accepting applications for the part-time position of Village Clerk with the possibility of part-time light maintenance. Clerk responsibilities include: meter reading; billing; recording payments; monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports including budget and audit. Other responsibilities include the procedural aspects of council meetings, preparing the agenda, and handling & maintaining all official correspondence & records for Village meetings. A strong understanding of Quickbooks and other computer applications is required. Part-time maintenance would include mowing, checking wells and lift station. If interested in both positions, the job would be a full 40 hr/week with benefits. Wages will depend on experience. Stop at the Merna Village office to obtain an application.
